Morning Break

At morning break we would like all children to eat fruit as part of our Healthy Schools initiative. The fruit can be fresh or dried. We include Healthy cereal bars in this category. We are part of the National Fruit for schools initiative so KS1 children (YR, 1, 2) get a free piece of fruit at school. Milk is also available if ordered, at a small charge. This may be paid for termly.
(Children may have free milk until the term in which they are 5, but again it must be ordered). Our milk supplier is Cool Milk. If your child no longer wishes to have milk or wishes to begin during the term we require a week’s notice. Water from the drinking fountain and filter machine is available throughout the day. Water bottles are available from the school office for £1.50. These need to be brought home at the end of the week for a good wash!

School Dinners

Children who stay all day have the choice of having hot meals or sandwiches provided by an outside caterer or bringing a healthy packed lunch and drink to school from home.

Hot meals can be ordered up to 4 weeks in advance and until 8am on the morning of the meal. They cost £2.30 per day. You will receive a parent login to provide access to the website School Money. If your child is ill or on a school trip you must change your order online to cancel the lunch. All enquiries or questions should be directed to the catering company.

Free School Meals

Children can receive free school meals in families on low income, if in receipt of:
  • Income support
  • Job seekers allowance
  • Support under part VI of the Immigration & Asylum Act 1999
  • Child Tax Credit and NOT working tax credit and an annual income below £16,190
  • Guarantee element of state pension credit

If you would like to apply for free school meals, please collect a form from the school office or phone to ask for one. All applications are dealt with in confidence. If you are eligible for free school meals, we do encourage you to claim this as it is completely confidential but is of benefit to both yourself and the school. Additional funding is available dependent upon the number of free school meals a school has. If you want any further information please see Mrs Moore or the school office or contact Worcestershire County Council on 01905 766182 who will be able to confirm if you are eligible for free school meals.

Pupil Premium

The school receives a Pupil Premium for every child that is registered for free School Meals. The Pupil Premium is used in a variety of ways to enable the school to enhance provision for the children and impact on their levels of progress and attainment.
