On a Tuesday afternoon we go to Forest School, during this time the children will have chance to explore the outdoor grounds. They will have the chance to build different objects, explore the outdoor musical instruments, search for mini beasts and take part in lots of nature walks. The children should have a pair of wellies and waterproofs in school at all times. The school can supply a purple all in one waterproof suit for a small cost, if you are interested please speak to the school office.
Oak class take part in PE on a Monday afternoon. Children are to come to school in PE kits. Please ensure that every item is clearly labelled.
This half term we have been focusing on celebrations. Take a look at all the exciting things we have been doing. We even had a leak in the roof which was very exciting and we helped Mrs Pardoe come up with some ways to fix it. We found our best solution was Sellotape.
PE- Autumn 2
This half term in PE Mrs Mansfield has been teaching us all about the fundamentals of PE. We have played lots of games and learnt how to use lots of pieces of equipment safely. We even got to slide along benches and through tunnels. In the final week we had a special PE treat and got to try out some of the new equipment that had been delivered. We can’t wait till next half term when we will be doing Gymnastics.
Forest Autumn 2
We have had so much fun in the forest this half term. We have made bonfires and boats, been on nature hunts and explored different parts of our school site that we had yet to visit. We are so lucky to have so much outside space to explore.
We have had a very magical Christmas in Reception. We started off learning all about the Gingerbread Man and we even designed and made our own. Outside we helped set traps too, to try and catch the fox. Out in the forest we read ‘The Tree That Was Meant to Be’ and decided to then decorate a tree in the forest that looked all alone and not its best.
In the final week we had a magical virtual visit from Santa and his elf, who then left us gifts to find in the forest. In the final week we had our party day where we made party crowns, had a visit from Mrs Claus and it even snowed! We had so much fun and are now all ready and excited for Christmas day.
