What we been up to this year.
Welcome to school - Autumn 1
We have had a fantastic start to school this half term. We have spent lots of time getting to know each other and our new classroom. We have really enjoyed being able to access inside and outside at all times during the day.
Our topics this half term have been All about Me,  Space, Autumn & Halloween. We really enjoyed learning all about the planets and stars. We even had a planetarium on the roof.
Forest School - Autumn 1
We have had lots of fun in the forest this half term. We have spent lots of time exploring our environment and learning all about the importance of the trees. We all picked our own tree to take care of this year.
We have also had lots of fun building our class stories in the forest and also finding all the fantastic creatures that call the forest home. We even had fun with mud.
Halloween 2020:
We had lots of fun during Halloween week. We carved pumpkins, sang songs, made magic potions.
We even had our first school disco and got to dress up. We had lots of fantastic costumes.

Autumn 2

This half term we have been focusing on celebrations. Take a look at all the exciting things we have been doing. We even had a leak in the roof which was very exciting and we helped Mrs Pardoe come up with some ways to fix it. We found our best solution was Sellotape.

PE- Autumn 2

This half term in PE Mrs Mansfield has been teaching us all about the fundamentals of PE. We have played lots of games and learnt how to use lots of pieces of equipment safely. We even got to slide along benches and through tunnels. In the final week we had a special PE treat and got to try out some of the new equipment that had been delivered. We can’t wait till next half term when we will be doing Gymnastics.

Forest Autumn 2

We have had so much fun in the forest this half term. We have made bonfires and boats, been on nature hunts and explored different parts of our school site that we had yet to visit. We are so lucky to have so much outside space to explore.

Christmas 2020

We have had a very magical Christmas in Reception. We started off learning all about the Gingerbread Man and we even designed and made our own. Outside we helped set traps too, to try and catch the fox. Out in the forest we read ‘The Tree That Was Meant to Be’ and decided to then decorate a tree in the forest that looked all alone and not its best.

In the final week we had a magical virtual visit from Santa and his elf, who then left us gifts to find in the forest. In the final week we had our party day where we made party crowns, had a visit from Mrs Claus and it even snowed! We had so much fun and are now all ready and excited for Christmas day.
