Beech Class 2021/22

Classes

Year 2 - Beech Class
Welcome to Year 2

We can't wait to share all the exciting things we have been up to.
Christmas in Year 2
We were invited to St Andrews Church to a special Open the Book service about The Nativity story.  On Christmas jumper day we also had a visit from Father Christmas as well as taking part in a Christmas scavenger Hunt - it was great fun!
In the last week we all enjoyed watching The Return of Peter Pan at Malvern Theatre. We had our Christmas party, where we all dressed up in our best Christmas outfits. Then on the last day we all performed beautifully in our Carol Service.
We hope everyone has a very Happy and Healthy Christmas and New Year.
We enjoyed investigating different types of puppets. We then made our own - we were very proud of them.
Pudsey Bear came to visit us.

Multi Skills Festival
We had a fantastic morning taking part in the Multi Skills Festival at Westacre Middle School. The games were all organised by the year 7 pupils -  some of them were ex pupils from Ombersley.
We learned lots of new games and skills, we also had lots of fun. Thank you to Mrs Hobbs for arranging the event for us and for coming with us too.

We found a very old suitcase in our classroom; when we opened it, we found lots of really old toys in there, we wondered where they had come from.
We asked our parents and Grandparents what sort of toys they used to have. Some of them allowed us to bring them in to share with our class. We sorted some of our toys on a time line from oldest to newest.

When we visited Hartlebury Museum, we saw lots of wonderful toys from the past. It was a fabulous day finding out about what children did in the past. We got to play with lots of toys, saw some beautiful old caravans and carriages and got to sit in a Victorian classroom; where we found some old scales that came from our school!

Two Christmas presents arrived in our classroom. When we opened them, we first found a letter to Father Christmas then in the first box was a 'Traction Man'. In the second box were lots of different outfits for the Traction Man. We the started reading the story about Traction Man and his adventures. One of his adventures was in the foamy waters of the sink. We had lots of fun investigating the setting then we wrote about it.

We have enjoyed some time in the forest as part of our Outdoor and Adventure lessons in PE.

We have enjoyed Mrs Robinson joining in with our Music lessons, we have begun by learning about clockwork toys and some of the sounds they make.
