Blackberry Picking and making jam

We began our WW1 work this term with blackberry picking. During WW1 children were allowed to miss school to go blackberry picking, the blackberries were turned into jam and sent to the troops. We made our blackberries into blackberry and apple jam for a special ‘Blackberry Tea’. We picked apples from our school trees and made over 30 jars of jam. We tried it on toast at break time to make sure it tasted good!

St Johns Ambulance First Aid

Year 4 spent the day learning basic First Aid with St Johns Ambulance. We now know how to deal with a nose bleed, minor bleeding and an asthma attack. Well done to Year 4 you worked hard all day.

Welcome to Year 4

Science assembly

Year 4 really enjoyed the Fizz pop science assembly

Trip to Highley

On 16th September, KS2 visited The Engine House at Highley. They were evacuated and travelled on the Severn Valley Railway. They learnt about living in a wartime home, air raid shelters and about make, do and mend. It was a super day and lots of fun was had by all!

KS2 Production

A huge well done to all the children in KS2 for their wonderful performances of ‘Alice the Musical’. Everyone acted and sung their hearts out and we were very proud. Thank you to all the staff who helped and to the parents for making the beautiful costumes. Pictures to follow!
