Christmas Market!

Last week we worked very hard making all our things for our Christmas market. Mrs. Osborn challenged us to make the most profit using our £10 budget. We undertook market research to see what we could make and then we set about making for the rest of the week.

We made 5 items in total and worked every day to make sure they were all ready for Friday’s market. Our record was Thursday morning when we made 105 cakes before playtime!

On Friday our stall was popular and we sold everything that we had made. Our profit was a very impressive £76.10! Thank you to everyone who visited our stall and well done Chestnut class for all your hard work making our stall a success!

Christmas Week

Happy Christmas!

Our Christmas fun started on Tuesday. First we had our Christmas lunch and then we went to see Snow White at The Swan Theatre. It was really good and we sang, booed and laughed all the way through. Wednesday was Christmas party day. We visited Father Christmas in his grotto and we were all given a present. We must have been good this year! The Friends made us a delicious party lunch and then we played games. We played Pass the Parcel, Musical Statues and lots of other games.

We have had a lovely first term and are all looking forward to a well earned holiday.

Christmas Market 2012

Well done to Beech Class for being the winners of the Christmas Market competition. We made a profit of £98.50. Well done children and parents.

This week we have been getting ready for The Christmas Market. Mrs Osborn sent us a letter with a £10 note. She challenged us to see how much money we could make. We decided to make gift tags, Christmas tree decorations and cakes and biscuits. So we got to work. It was like Santa’s workshop!

Next we had a cooking afternoon. Miss Passmore and Miss Ramano helped us. We made chocolate chip cookies, cake pops and Elliot’s reindeer cakes.

Friday, after all our hard work, we set up our market and opened it for business. We had a great time selling all our creations. Thank you to all the parents who came to see us. The result of the competition will be announced in assembly on Monday. Watch this space!
And a big thank you to Miss Passmore who has been working with us for the last five weeks. We have loved having her in our class and look forward to her coming back in the Summer term.

Happy Christmas

Our last week of term was great fun. We went to The SwanTheatre on Tuesday to see Snow White and the Seven Dwarves ~ it was great. Then on Wednesday we Saw Father Christmas, had some delicious food made by ‘The Friends’ and enjoyed an afternoon of party games, including pass the parcel and musical statues. Finally, on the last day we had a game of Snowman drive with year 2 and watched a movie in the afternoon.

We have worked really hard in our first term in year 1 and now deserve a well earned rest!
Well Done Year 1 children. Have a Magical Christmas and a very Happy New Year.
We have lots of exciting new things to learn in the new year with our new topic.

Weren’t we Brilliant?!

Thankyou to all the parents, grandparents and families who came to see our Nativity on Wednesday. We had worked really hard to practice and it was all worth it on the night.

Here are a few reminders of how magical it all was…

Christmas Market

All week we have been getting ready for our Christmas market. On Monday we made some clove oranges ~ they were quite tricky to make but smelt and looked very Christmassy.

During the week we also made Christmas giftbags and tags, Christmas tree picture frames, Snowflakes, bookmarks, Muffins and Chocolate rice crispy cakes. We had great fun making them and on Friday our classroom looked like a proper Christmas market ~ have a look…

As you can see we were very busy and by the end of the sale there was not much left ~ we were fantastic sales girls and boys and stayed until the last cake, bag and orange were sold ~ look out for us on The Young Apprentice in a few years time!
