The Friends of Ombersley School

Thank you to everyone who came to the AGM on Wednesday 19th September 2018.
We are pleased to welcome Clare Pain (Yr2) as the new chair, as well as Becky Price (Yr 2/YrR) as the vice chair, Nikki Perrett (Nursery) as the treasurer and Kate Jackson (Yr 1) as the secretary.
Thank you also for all the support during the last year. We are pleased to confirm we raised £6,147 plus a further £1200 is still expected from the summer fair. The School really appreciate all that we do and passed on their thanks.

quiznightThe Friends play an active role in school life. We organise regular social and fund raising activities and events for both the children and adults. We hold regular meetings which you are welcome to attend and everyone’s contributions and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Events have included quizzes, coffee mornings, bake sales, an Easter egg hunt, children’s disco, bingo and a Ladies night. We have plenty more things planned for the coming months too, so watch this space!

In recent years the money raised by The Friends has been used to subsidise school trips and purchase play equipment, listening stations and tarpaulins for our Forest School. This year we are hoping to raise enough to replace our Phonics reading system.

All parents are welcome at the Friends meetings, so come and support your local school and children. Your help is always welcomed even if you do not feel able to become a committee member.
