River Severn trip

What a fantastic day we had on The River Severn! First we had a river boat trip on The Earl. Jake, the skipper took us down the river under the 3 bridges. Then back up to see the River Lock. Along the river we spotted lots of wildlife, including swans, cormorants and even kingfishers.

After our trip down the river, we walked up to Diglis Basin with Roger and Gill from The Canal Trust. They taught us lots of things about canals including water safety; they were very impressed by our knowledge about The River Severn. We helped with the opening of the locks to let a narrow boat through to the river.

We had a wonderful day; the weather was beautiful and our teachers were really proud of us all.
