Children in Need Year 2

Children in Need 2018

Wow! Pudsey came to visit us. We wore our spots and bright clothes and gave him all the coins we had collected.

We loved the cakes at break too!

The children in Year 2 have really enjoyed all their work to commemorate the 100th anniversary since the end of World War 1.

The children have looked in detail, at the poem ‘In Flanders Fierld’ by John McCrae, had a creative morning with Year 1 making all sorts of different poppies and visited Ombersley Church to look at the War graves in the church yard. This week the children are also sharing what they have found out about the members in their family who fought or lived during the World Wars.

Some of the children also joined us on Remembrance Sunday to place crosses on the war memorial.

Happy Hallowe’en!

Year 2 Multiskills festival

The Year 2 children had a really fun morning taking part in the Year 2 Multiskills festival at Droitwich Leisure Centre, with 6 other schools from the Droitwich pyramid. The children took part in the sprint, space hopper, sack, rugby run and skipping races.

At the end of the morning Ombersley came in first position! Well done children. You were fantastic and really supported and encouraged each other too. What superstars you are!

Hartlebury Museum

On Friday we visited Hartlebury Museum to find out all about old toys.

We enjoyed investigating what material they were made from and had even more fun playing with them! Some of them were very tricky.

Afterwards we explored the museum to see if there were any other old toys we could spot. But the best bit was spending our money in the gift shop! It was great fun!

First week in Year 2

What an exciting start to Year 2!

We were very excited to arrive at school in our new school uniforms. And didn’t we look smart!

There are so many new things to learn and find out about. We have written our classroom rules  and we all love the new class Dojos!

Mrs Hobbs had found a box wrapped in Christmas paper when she was tidying up in the summer holidays. We thought it might be an ‘Elf on the Shelf’ or a new pair of trainers. But it wasn’t either of those. It was a Superhero action toy called Traction Man. We can’t wait to find out what adventures he has.
