All Things Wild

On Thursday, we went on our Yr 1 trip to ‘All Things Wild’ and had a wild adventure. We started the day stepping back in time to visit the Dinosaurs, they were huge. We then went to the Adventure room where we got to hold some real animals. The Snake was very scary but we all were very brave. Soon after we jetted across the globe to the outback trail where we met a kookaburra, we went inside the aviary and met some other Australian birds before we went on a wallaby walk inside their enclosure, It was very exciting to be so close to them. After lunch, we went around all the other animals. We met some Beavers, Meerkat’s, baby Goats and Emus, Zebras, Lemurs, Skunks and many more. Before we went home we dived under the sea to meet some sharks. We had a really wild day out on our trip.

Non-uniform Pyjama day

We will be having a non-uniform day on Friday 23rd March 2018. The School Council have
decided to make it a pyjama day so children can come to school dressed in their pyjamas for
a donation of £1. The School Council will decide where the money raised will be used.

PPP Discussion group

There will be a PPP Discussion Group Meeting at school on Wednesday 21st March 2018 from
9.30-11.30am. Please do come along for tips and advice on parenting issues.

Due to the recent snow and extreme temperatures forecast the access and school site is unsafe. School will remain closed tomorrow – Tuesday 12 December. This is for the safety for all our pupils, parents and staff.

School closure Monday 11 December

Friends News – Thank you!

Just a quick update on the Friends of Ombersley fund raising so far this year.
Thank you for supporting the Halloween Disco, the Bonfire evening and the Quiz night, we have raised £757.00 in total with a bit more to come from the Cricket Club – Thank you!
Without your support, help and attendance at these events we wouldn’t be able to help the school provide the enrichment activities and additional resources for our children.

MacMillan Coffee Morning Friday 29th September 2017

We will be having our MacMillan coffee morning (in the afternoon!!) in the school hall on Friday 29th September 2017 from 2.00pm. This is a great way for our families to get to know each other and raise money for a worthwhile cause.

Friends AGM Wednesday 20th September 2017

‘The Friends of Ombersley School’ is our equivalent of a PTA. We organise social events for the children & families and try to raise valuable extra income for resources for the school and to help subsidise events throughout the year. The Friends first meeting and AGM will be on Wednesday 20th September 2017 at 7pm in the school hall. Everyone is welcome so please do come along as it is a good way to meet other parents and find out what is happening over the coming year.

30 Funded Hours

30_free_hours_logo-1-1024x1024From September 2017, we will have places for the new 30 funded hours. If your son or daughter is due to start Nursery in September and will be turning 3 before 31 August 2017, you will need to apply now to HMRC to get an 11 digit code. You will then need to complete a form, available from the Nursery office. If we do not receive that code before your child starts in September, you will be unable to access the 15 ‘additional hours’ until the following term. If you need further information, please contact Clare Smith, 01905 620384 or pop down to the Nursery office.
