Bell boating

Year 3 and 4 had an amazing day bell boating on the Droitwich canal on Monday.

We learned lots of new skills including rowing forward and backward and steering using the paddles, we also tried rowing whilst standing up. Each boat worked together as a team. It was very hard work, but we had a wonderful day.

We went through a lock and saw swans nesting. The weather was very kind to us too!

Key stage Two had a fantastic afternoon at The Palace Theatre in Redditch on Friday.

We enjoyed watching some famous faces in the pantomime Snow White. We laughed, cheered, sang and booed all afternoon.

Our teachers loved it too and were extremely proud of our behaviour.

Here are some memories to share from our visit.

Maths Week 2017

Maths Weeks’ focus was reasoning – Reasoning is fundamental to knowing and doing mathematics.  Some would call it systematic thinking. Reasoning enables children to make use of all their other mathematical skills and so reasoning could be thought of as the ‘glue’ which helps mathematics makes sense.

We began with a whole school assembly, we all had to work out how to get 125 numbers in the right order. We had lots of talking and moving around to solve the problem.

Each day we solved reasoning problems in our classrooms – look at the Class websites for our problems.

On Thursday our parents came in to play games – we had great fun

On Friday Mrs Osborn challenged us to make the biggest paper chains. We worked in our Houses to make repeated pattern paper chains.

The results were really close – Ruby House won -Well done Ruby House!!

WW1 Cars

David Collier and Michael Flather brought  their WW1 cars to show us.
They were a Model T Ford and a 1902 Lambert.

We loved sitting in them and pretending we were driving – especially blowing the horn.

Thank you David and Michael
